Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Lift)
Why is it that the eyes have been called -- "the window of the soul?" Interpersonal communication involves eye-to-eye contact and therefore is the focus of our interactions. We perceive happiness, sadness, anger, joy and, of course, restfulness and beauty by looking into a person's eyes -- thus we are talking about the most important single visual feature on our face.
As we age, the eyes often develop a tired, sad, or even angry appearance -- although that may not be how we feel. Therefore we may unintentionally portray a false or misleading negative expression.
A blepharoplasty or "eyelid lift" -- with or without an associated brow elevation -- helps restore a rested, youthful, and more attractive appearance to our eyes. This then reflects itself in an improved appearance, and refreshed expression of the entire face.
During that surgical procedure, the puffy bags, sagging skin, and many of the age lines are removed. An upper eyelid crease can also be added to Asian eyes.
